Great spot, Premier! I'm assuming if you already applied to switch before the increase happened, it's just a matter of emailing them to requset that, as you don't agree with the increase and have already taken steps to switch, then they still have to bill you at the old rate?

No, I switched my gas from BG to an Equitable Billing Company before even the previous price increase, and I've no reason to change currently even with the recent price increases :)

However, I did use the clause to try and maintain the old prices with Eon when I then switched my electricity supply last April. Let's just say whilst it appears easy in theory, in practise it was far more complicated. Numerous expensive (0845) telephone calls, 3 trips to the post office to send recorded delivery letters to their head office, and receipt of a letter from them before legal action was just some of the palava involved in ensuring they abided by their own terms & conditions of supply.

Perhaps BG will be more efficient ... hmmm
(I hope they won't be so stupid as to issue a letter before legal action at least)
