Hi lovely people,
I wonder if someone could help me. I am trying to help my Gran (who is 90) with finding a good affordable insurance
for her electric Rio4 4-wheel scooter.
She is currently paying about £150 a year which includes public liablity, breakdown cover and cost of repairs and labour.
I know this is an insurance issue but thought I would ask here first.
Can anyone recommend a company?
Many thanks.

Not altogether sure if adding onto home insurance would cover the breakdown/repairs side.. certainly didnt when I dealt with mobility products.
Would reccomend having the repairs/warranty cover as even the smaller repair can cost a lot and of course it usually covers the cost of a repairer call out too.
Age concern or the like should be able to reccomend a reputable insurer I always used to use Fish Insurance or Domestic and General but have been out of the business for a few years now.Bit of a Florida Fan :j

I tried to get insurance for my scooter, I tried all the big name insurance companies and none of them wanted to know at all.
My local Mobility shop had some leaflet for scooter insurance, cost was approx £150 a year. This covered only public liability, 3rd party cover, and recovery following an accident. It did not cover breakdown cover.
If you speak to your local shop they will try and help you.
You house contents will only cover your scooter for Fire and theft only, so don't think it will cover everything. The Looney o:EasterBunf Loughborough..0 -

They should be able to put you in touch with someone who can.
Failing that call Mobility Insurance UK on 0800 051 0324 or

The AA used to do breakdown type cover for scooters - i can't recall how much it was per year but I'm quite sure it wasn't very expensive2014 20p savers club #2 I've given up trying to keep track of how much that pig eats!
