Are you using Internet Explorer, Firefox or any other browser?
Sorry, a little more information:
I am using IE7, I have added C Cleaner as recommended on the daily clicks thread and chosen which cookies to not delete but it is not happening.
Is there a way to delete cookies on C Cleaner perhaps I have missed the point of C Cleaner, as you can guess I am not very techi0 -
hi..
I use firefox when using quidco, and IE7 when browsing other websites.
Therefore, clearing cookies on firefox doesn't affect any IE7 settings...0 -
I had the same problem on C Cleaner when clearing stuff it would clear all passwords, all I did to overcome this was unistall it and not use it.
I'd recomend using Firefox like from the above post^, its very simple to clear cookes simply go into Tools > Clear private data. But even if you use C Cleaner I think it will get rid of the cookies and passwords from firefox.
Its your choice really, just have a play about and see whats best for you.0 -
Thanks for the replys I will try firefox0

It is the cookies that is keeping you logged in. Why are you wanting to delete them? Cookies are not evil or viruses.0

The OP's request was to clear cookies for sites like Quidco - the cookie is very important here and you have to ensure that it is quidco's cookie that is used when you visit a merchant to buy something, or else the transaction may not track thus losing potentially hundreds of pounds! It is the cookies that is keeping you logged in. For future reference jembeth, I suggest using Firefox mostly for normal web stuff and using Internet Exploder for Quidco - I've never had a transaction not track (apart from 3 dodgy bingo sites), but I had to argue the toss for one in Firefox.
As a tip, in IE go Tools, Internet Options which opens a window with several tabs on. Choose the General tab, in the middle of the tab is button marked "Delete Cookies" - job done!
As to your comment robt that cookies aren't evil or viruses - no they are not but cookies can and are used in some malicious ways.
One way that is hitting the headlines is the ad firm Phorm (amongst others) and BT's use of their kit - the simplest analogy is you are talking to a friend and BT/phorm listen in to the conversation, and when they pick up a word that their advertising partners have sponsored, they insert an ad in your conversion.
For me, the Phorm/BT saga shows how weak our data protection laws are - if you want more info then a read of www.theregister.co.uk, searching on Phorm, will give an insight.4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
