As said, you almost certainly need to switch to a single rate tariff for electricity.
It seems odd that you don't use much gas, have paid high DDs and yet are owing them money - you should be in credit now to pay for the higher use in coming months.
Either, you have built up a large debt in the past (perhaps before this boiler?) or, just as likely, you are using more gas than you imagine?
We are high users (family of six) and the only way I've been able to keep on top of energy bills is to read my meters. It used to be quarterly (to check against the bill), then monthly, then weekly. Did get a bit obsessive and took daily readings when I started to make real cutbacks. Now it's weekly. We have been using between 75-90 kwh of electricity a week. Gas has been about 150-175kwh a week but that is going to increase massively now we have heating on.
It would be a good idea to take meter readings and look on these boards where people post figures - I think our electricity is good now (it has been almost double in the past) but our gas is way higher than most people on here.0 -
Hi!
Well I don't know about how much we've ACTUALLY used in kw's but I know when the heating goes on and how often we use the hob? I feel as though we're being done over left right and centre tbh!
Still not managed to get hold of anyone from this 'team' i've found -- not giving in though! No chocolate, cosmetics or clothes to be bought before xmas day 14! ~ NPower eBay target £541.670 -

Well, you need to know how much you're using. How can you say you're paying too much if you don't know how much you're using?
Suggest you look over all your old bills/statements and make some calculations from actual readings.0
