Are oil-filled radiators silent?

I know it's difficult to actually guarantee totally silent, but are they less likely to make noises associated with electric panel heaters?

I bought a wall mounted panel heater that had the element 'tinking' inside and the casing 'clicking' presumably whilst the metal heated. very annoying for my bedroom, which is why I’m hoping an oil filled would be more or less silent...

Does anyone have a silent model they can recommend?

Regarding efficiency, all heaters produce the same amount of heat be it storage/convection/radiator, with the exception of a heat pump you can't make 1Kw produce more than 1Kw of heat.

I have tried a lot of heating technologies per the years and from what Ive tried the only ones that do not make expansion clicks are Dimplex Mk1 electric radiators. Im guessing its because they are made from cast iron (which doesn't expand when heating) where others are made from steel (which does expand when heating). The downsides of the Mk1 is they are heavy and very expensive to buy new however you may find some nocking around on ebay, most second hand Mk1s are setup for free standing without the wall hanging brackets. I assume you can buy the brackets from Dimplex. These offer the choice of wall mounting or free standing.

I have settled with a bunch of wall mounted Glen/Dimplex OFX 1.2Kw wall mounted radiators which do click for a few seconds while heating but have learnt how to ignore these clicks.
