Playing PS2 (new Singstar) games on PS3 - How do i do this?

Helloooooo!

Just wondering as i am noticing some new Singstar games that are only due to be released on PS2 (namely the Disney sing a long one due for release next month) and i would love to get it for Xmas. I have seen comments on other techie forums saying its poss to do so and something about disc swapping (?!?). Really i was just hoping someone could tell me if it is at all poss and possible explain in lamens terms (i really get lost with all the techie talk).

none of the current ps3s (eg the 40gb & 80gb ones on sale in the UK) can play ps2 games.

as far as i know (and this is a wild guess as i dont have singstar), you load up the ps3 singstar > go to one of the options in the game > eject the ps3 singstar disc > put the ps2 one in and play the songs from the ps2 disc.

Gaming_guy is correct. The PS2 Singstar games currently have disc swapping enabled so that you don't need to load the game up again to swap songs. The PS3 should have the same technology now, though I haven't tested it myself (I have a 60GB PS3 so I can play PS2 games on it by default).
