We've got one. Had it for twelve years. Ours is a Valent to go with our Valent Condensing Boiler - which we've also had for twelve years. Yes, we had a condensing boiler a decade before anyone else had heard of them.

The egg-shaped thing on the floor is the expansion tank - it has a rubber(?) membrane in it to take up the expansion. Ours sits on the top of the tank. We love it. We pay very little for our hot water and heating.

Mains pressure hot water gives us a tank-free loft space. Having a big family means we need stored hot water and must have a cylinder - a combi boiler wouldn't give enough if we needed to use a lot at once. Also at the time we bought ours we couldn't get a combi-condenser as they didn't exist.

    Hi

Can't see that it will be very accessible once it's finished .The expansion vessel's pressure test point (schrader valve) is at the opposite end to the pipe connection.
Plastic plumbing looks a bit temporary.
Electrics in zone 2, how well is it going to be built in? Consult manufacturer's instructions.
Do you have a specific problem?
