structured engineer's bill

I have recently got a bill for a calculation of an extension and other work from a structured engineer - £850 plus VAT. So far he has produced a draft of the culculation. I don't know whether this bill also includes a certificate, which is given once the extension has completed. Do they usually charge for this certificate?

I don't really understand the question but a bill normally specifies what you are paying for. If it's not on the bill it's probably not included. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

For that money I would expect it to include everything. Don't you have a quote which lists what you were getting?I am the Cat who walks alone0

Problem is that he didn't clarify his job. I didn't know that I needed him- I thought that an architect would do the calculation as a part of his job. Getting an extension done in this country is a lot more confusing and stressful than my home country, Japan.0
