want a savings a/c with passbook

Can anyone tell me of a good bank or b/s that does a basic savings account with an old fashioned passbook. I know the rates won't be all that great but it is for an elderly lady who wants to put in £200-300 away to save each month and wants to see it "show" in the passbook. Thanks for any suggestions :j

Nationwide do the CashBuilder Book but the rates are dire, rather than 'not all that great' - £1 - £9,999 1.50% AER.0

Nationwide Cashbuilder book (rate is very poor) or Britannia Easysaver.
I am sure there are other better accounts with regional building societies but clearly the availability of these depend on where you live.0 -
NS&I Investment Account looks a bit better than Nationwide (and is accessible via Post Offices) or Britannia, tiered rates from 3.20% for <£500.0

cheltenham and Gloucester although they now come under lloyds. Not a great rate though, the best of a bad bunch being the guaranteed branch saver.0

your best bet is a building society !! I do not know what area you live but Skipton ,Chelsea ,and Norwich and Peterborough are all paying over 5% interest on a passbook account

The sting in the tail with that account ischeltenham and Gloucester although they now come under lloyds. Not a great rate though, the best of a bad bunch being the guaranteed branch saver.- There’s no notice required to access your money but…
- Withdrawals are subject to a charge equivalent to 30 days' gross interest on the amount withdrawn

Halifax do a Monthly Saver passbook account (not Regular Saver) that was paying around 5% last time I saw. 1 withdrawal allowed each year.0
