Gap Filing Expanding Foam - how easy to remove?

When I moved into my present home I had an extractor fan put in the bathroom. I never use it as it's hopeless and the flapping of the outside vent flaps when there's the slightest breeze annoys as well. The fan has a 4" diameter hole for it core drilled into the brickwork. I'm tempted to take the outer cover off and fill with gap filling foam to seal the hole and then put the outer cover back on and leave it. (I open the window when I have a shower and that works fine.
BUT I'm wondering how much grief would be involved in removing the foam at some future date should I change my mind and fit a decent extractor fan with integral gate and non-flappy outside cover. Will it be too difficult to remove the foam?

Trying hard to be a good moneysaver.

no problem at all
once it has gone off, to cut a hole in it is easy
it gives way to a stanley knife, or a hacksaw blade or similar0
