Buying from china

Hi all,
I am looking for things to sell (cheaply) for children at our schools xmas fete and can only get decent wholesale boys things cheaply from china ( wwe ,ben 10 etc ). I have had no problems buying from abroad in the past but only from europe. If any one can tell me tips to look for in feedback etc to make sure i am not going to get stung I would be really gratefull. I really am an ebay novice :o and know nothing about if i may get hit with duty taxes or simillar!!!!!
Thank you in advance,
KT xxxx

I have used deal extreme for the item abd they have always come through,if you are buying bulk you will be looking at import taxes etc...so dont be surprised of you get a hefty tax bill :o best check with customs, the tax man ,etc
I would love some decent telly on a Saturday night

Its not a matter of being "hit with" tax and duty on the goods, they will be purchased on a commercial basis and as such is entitled to an £18 duty/vat free allowance, strictly speaking seeing as you are purchasing these items for re-sale you have no duty free limit, regardless of your good intentions.

    all the best

I would be careful buying things to sell at School from China, many fakes using dodgy chemicals, i wouldnt risk it in case something happened to a child

good plan - remember the t's could well have been made by children if they come from China.

When it comes to kid's toys, I wouldn't buy from China. It's well known for counterfeitting goods, and I personally wouldn't take the risk, no matter how much money it saved.

If they're really that much cheaper, then they've probably been made in a dodgy factory by kids!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

It wasn't really toys I was looking for but things like stickers and novelty pencils etc LOADS of cute girly ones out there but all the boys at our school seem to be wrestling mad!!! Looking on some the uk websites now and off to cash n carry when I've finished my brew.
    Thanks for all the advice.
