best and safest place to invest £35-50,000

hi all, my father has quite a substantial amount in various isas peps etc, he is scared with the current trend that he may somehow lose them, can you give advice as to where it will be a good place to gain interest and also it has to be safe as this is his main concern.

    National Savings.

    Check out the range of things on their web site and have the "strength" of the British Government behind his savings.

    I like Index Linked Savings Certificates.

    If you want higher rates, chase the rate and rely on the FSCS to "insure" the first £50k. That way he can save anywhere.
