Please please help me uninstall software

I bought this software of a site in order to unlock my phone. However, now I think this website is really dodgy and i am desperately trying to get rid of this software but I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I don't know where it's hidden itself. The software is :

winrar
tutorial.rar
software.rar

Could you please tell how to find them, as I have searched for them using the search function on the computer but nothing comes up.

thanks in advance

winrar is a application which will un-install properly its legit it should be in control panel/uninstall

The other two are rare files these are compressed files associated with winrar, these may contain data or a program or worse virus. You cant tell until you open them.

Its most likely to be a doc in tutorial or pdf file although I could be wrong
In software that may contain some data with program to unlock phone

If you go into search and type *.rar that should list any rar files
  • thanks savemoney,

i want to get all the files off my computer because it didn't work and I don't trust the website i bought it from.

I have put *.rar in the search function in the startup menu in vista and it comes up with nothing..... what do i do ?
  • nothing then, nothing there. Did you search all the drive(s) or just locally folder?
  • hey ts,
i just put *.rar in the search box in the windows startup menu. how do i ensure it's searching the entire computer. i definitely downloaded these files because i attempted to use them. also i can't find the winrar program in program files.

where does your browser send dowloads? they will be wherever your browser puts them

In firefox its Tools>options then the "Main tab, second section down is "Downloads" and will give a path to where downloads go. It will be something simular in IE too.
"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

  • Advanced search check Location is not on indexed locations, select local hard drives
  • Open up search type rar (say) then select the Search Everywhere. In the new window press select, Search Tools/Search Options tick the box Include compressed files

it doesn't give a location, it just says alert each time. i didn't change the location where it decided to save it to, i just clicked ok.

thankyou, yes the box was unticked. i located one of the .rar files (tutorial) but not the one called software. i actually found the tutorial file by just pressing enter on an empty search box. searching using *.rar for some reason doesn't bring anything up...very strange
