Advice please on personal injury claim:

I was going to buy a car five weeks ago… I took out insurance on the car £345 as I intended to pay for it and drive it home but after visiting the guy and leaving his home to check the car out… I slipped and fell down his garden steps.. ( very painful but I thought it would get better in a few days….. almost five weeks later I still have problem’s walking!)

As I couldn’t even drive the car back home I phoned and asked the insurance company to cancel the insurance and refund me… they have since sent me a cheque for £212 ( no mention of the £345) I paid! , I couldn’t even get inside the car to drive it.!! (I’m willing to pay admin fees and a cancellation fee but to lose £133 in 2 days seems a bit extreme!)

I have a witness and even the owner of the car admitted I fell down the front steps from the house.
I’m not happy with “Mayfair Insurance” or the owner of the car to be honest.

Do you think I can claim a personal injury claim? (I’m not ambulance chasing but this injury is really affecting me as now I can’t walk further than 10 yards without help!)
Thanks for any advice.

Contact an injury claim handler and see what they say.

If negligence is involved your prospects may be brighter! "Where there's blame" and all that.

    What caused you to slip?

It was wet wooden steps ( like decking)... the insurance company is still only offering me £212 of the £345 I paid for the original car insurance.
