Post Office ISA Covered by Bank of Ireland?

Hi
I am currently looking to transfer an icesave isa to another provider.
Im considering the post office ISA at 6.25% and notice from Martins thread that the post office and the bank of ireland are considered the same organisation as far as financial guarantees are concerned.
Could someone advise if this means that the post office ISA is covered by the irish governments guarantee of all monies held by irish banks?
Can anyone recommend any other ISAs I should consider?

Have u got more than 50k in ISA's.......?. No, well then chill, not many of us have. There are too many doom and gloom merchants on here that are causing the MSE members to panic. Let me give you my scenario and hopefully you will sleep soundly. I have a 6 figure sum in savings with the Bradford and Bingley. I am sleeping like a baby, I am totally comfortable with the miniscule risk, I am not constantly reading the usual scaremongering postings from a few doom and gloom, the worlds going to end nigh numpty's that keep unsettling people here. rant over I am off to watch the adult channel ahemLiquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

Stavros, you are truly a person after my own heart, could not agree more!!!!!! I too have considerable saving with B & B and feel they are a lot more secure than 2 weeks ago. Of course the board should be informative but the scaremongering just makes things worse.0

juicyjude - we do try, but people just keep signing up, to just to say 'omg i've got more than £1k in a bank, is it safe?!?!' etc. bloody etc.
No bank is going to fail. <--- if i got a penny everytime I said this... I would be over the FCSC limit
