AVI edting?

hi,

i have done some videos on a digi camera. when they have been copied from my sd card they are landscape. how can edit them to rotate them

You should be able to do it with the built in Windows Movie Maker. Select the effects tab on the left and there is an option somewhere in the middle to rotate.

then how do i resave it as avi not project?

Something like virtualdub would be more suited to this kind of linear editing. It's a pretty steep learning curve, however. I'd say worth it though.

To rotate in windows movie maker, drag the clip to the timeline at the bottom, and right click it on the timeline, select "effects" and choose rotate 90 for clockwise or rotate 270 for anticlockwise.

To re-save as avi, go file > export. Choosing DV (avi) will give HUGE files but will retain most quality.

Save as AVI--->save to my computer--->best quality to save on my computer
