How to make a 6 Way Extension Lead?

Surely all you have to do is buy a 10m extension lead, cut off 2 metres at the plug end and fit another plug.
Sensible idea, assuming there's a logical reason to cut off two metres from the cable. All extension sockets now seem to be held together with bolts for which you would need a very special screwdriver to unscrew. (I've not come across one yet!)0 -

fit an RCCD ( power breaker plug ) in place of the original , which may well be a moulded on plug. this may add slightley to the price but will be more safe
(as such a long lead may become damaged and not noticed )

TBH if you need to buy a book on how to make an extension lead, I would seriously suggest that you forget the cost and buy the Argos one. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Whats it to be used for?:idea:0

You say the Argos one is expensive but have you actually costed mains cable? Reels of mains cable tend to come in 50 metres so if you want 10ft, you're going to be buying it from a small shop who'll charge through the nose.
How competent are you?
Hi
Depends where you buy the cable, cable in Wilkinson is only 61p per metre for 1.5mm squared 3 Core Flex and a plug in their cost 64p and a Extension Bar for 2 Sockets is only £2.16, So 8m of Cable is £4.88 + £0.64 + £2.16 = £7.68 and 10ft = 3 meters :money:.
So extension leads don't cost a lot to make, but are great fun too. :rotfl:

Unless of course, his mains supply is already protected. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
