fit an RCCD ( power breaker plug ) in place of the original , which may well be a moulded on plug. this may add slightley to the price but will be more safe
(as such a long lead may become damaged and not noticed )

TBH if you need to buy a book on how to make an extension lead, I would seriously suggest that you forget the cost and buy the Argos one.

Depends where you buy the cable, cable in Wilkinson is only 61p per metre for 1.5mm squared 3 Core Flex and a plug in their cost 64p and a Extension Bar for 2 Sockets is only £2.16, So 8m of Cable is £4.88 + £0.64 + £2.16 = £7.68 and 10ft = 3 meters :money:.

So extension leads don't cost a lot to make, but are great fun too. :rotfl:
