Telecom Plus.Another price increase.?

Just spoke to my T-Plus introducer. They told me that it looks like they will have to increase their heavy user gas prices, and some of their electric prices in Jan 2006.Although its not definite.

Time for me to move on, perhaps get a capped rate i think.

The newspapers have been banging on about many EU suppliers of gas holding onto their supplies for the UK illegally. The EU have been asked to look into this urgently. Maybe this will be dealt with quickly. Are you not locked into to capped suppliersfor a period (18 moths?) if you sign up?

I think many companies are having a challenge with prices due to the very rapid increases from producers lately. I suspect price increases from end suppliers will depend on how they did in the last rounds of bargaining with the producers and how long the agreements last. As a T+ Distributor myself, I stick with them because I signed myself up as a customer and get commission on what I use.

All companies are in business to make money and they will naturally price so that they can make a profit.

Eileen and I had a bloke round from a solar heating company this morning. Just how long will it take to recoup a £7,000 outlay? Having said that, I reckon there are better value systems on the market, and, if the price of gas (therefore gas powered electricity) keeps going up at this year's rate, it may well be worthwhile going micro generating for elctricity and solar for hot water.

    Nigel.

Out of interest can you confirm whether what the OP says is correct. "Are they considering putting up their prices again in January"?

I haven't heard anything yet and there was a "hotnews" for distributors on November 29th. Sorry for the delay in replying. I was down at my daughter's so that I could attend a Christmas dinner near Oxford last night.
