Watch out for the value packs being dearer than the normal packs on fruit & veg. The value stuff is quite often more expensive.
I thought they gave stuff away at Tesco's judging by the way the car parks are full on a weekend. :rotfl:0 -
On the 27th October, Tesco Wild Salmon 418gm was selling at 80p. Today it is £1.58. The price of this is up and down like a yo-yo!:confused:0

As my cat cannot eat cat food due to health problems we always buy tesco value tuna chunks in brine (it's the only thing he can keep down love him). usually 33p a small tin in a week it jumped to 48p a tin. So now buying him anoither brand that works out cheaper!0

I'm finding that going to a local independant is becoming a cheaper option more and more. While I may have to go to different outlets its still cheaper in the long run.
Example, a farm shop is selling a tray of eggs (24 free range) and a 5Kg bag of spuds for £6! Icebergs are also only 27p.
I also borrowed a cash and carry card and got 24 large chicken breast fillets for £12!!!
Big supermarkets have always been playing this game. It is only because we have become wise through sites such as this that we are becoming aware and are able to voice our opinions. What I hate is the way the lure you in, our TESCO has no instore bakery but as you walk in it smells of dohnuts because of the aroma they blast through the ventalation system! Con or what?0 -

Before there is a plethora of postings advising me thatthis is the way of retailing, I would point out that a) the SEL did not show it as a limited offer and b) Tesco appear to be funding its claim to be Britain's biggest discounter by discounting junk food but increasing the prices on some staples. Isn't that them being a bit hypocritical ?:p
Sugar is not a staple and it is junk food!!0 -
Tesco has 2 jars of Dolmio for £2.50 so I got loads, as I adore it anyway...then I went to Sainsburys and saw the same deal; but for only £2, damnit!!
Tesco Value spaghetti has more than doubled in price lately too.0 -
In Tesco yesterday and on the shelf were their 4 extra long rolls of luxury soft toilet tissue. I noticed some of the packs had the little "New and Improved" sign on them.....................
Result......original packs 360 sheets per roll............the new and improved 241 sheets at the same price.............
New and Improved where???????
How can toilet paper really improve anyway? Does it wrap itself into origami shapes and do its duty of it's own volition without you having to use your hands?0 -
