This fund seems to be weathering the storm, right?
http://www.h-l.co.uk/funds/security_details/sedol/B13W3Y4
and is this the same as "The CF Arch cru Portfolio Fund"
http://www.cruim.com/pages/cruportfolio-pc
Is this because it invests in private as opposed to listed companies?
What risks are there for this fund e.g I imagine property prices falling on it's investments could really knock it back.

Yes, I think the two you've highlighted are the same fund. I've invested a small amount in it but one of my reservations is that I don't know how it works. Seems I'm not the only one - http://www.citywire.co.uk/adviser/-/news/adviser-news/content.aspx?ID=3117630

Wait for dunstonh, he's most probably at the pub watching football at the moment, but him or one of the other regulars will explain it I should imagine.0

interesting article turbobob, that was written in August, where can we find those reports it speaks of? cheers0

I've avoided the fund. The stats appear good but without knowing what its investing in you are taking a punt at the unknown. You need to know what the underlying assets are to decide on what level of risk exists. Although perhaps that applies more to those of us that are financially liable for the advice we give. For those wanting to take a punt with their own money it may be a different matter.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Thanks Dunstonh, I want something low risk which can go in a S&S ISA, what do you recommend?0

He can't recommend anything without potentially being liable for that as advice.
The following funds aren't recommendations from me either but they're lower risk ones I have money in but if you're DIYing you need to do your own research. These may give you a starting point for your research:
CF RUFFER TOT RETURN O
INSIGHT DIVERSIFIED TARGET RTN
INVESCO PERP MTHLY INC PLUS [UK BONDS mainly]
JPM CAUTIOUS TOTAL RETURN A
NEWTON INTERNATIONAL BOND SIS [International, mainly government Bonds]
SWIP MULTIMANAGER DIVERSITY
I do have a small % in the ArchCru fund and also in BLACKROCK UK ABS ALPHA - neither of which I'm convinced are low risk but both have historically low volatility. The IMA sectors to research are Cautious Managed and Absolute Returns. HTH.0 -
I couldn't find the detailed breakdown of underlying investments they refer in the article on the Cru Investment Management website. The Arch Financial Products web site requires registration to look at anything. There is some information in the prospectus and client factsheet from the Cru website.
To add to Ian's list an index linked gilt fund would be at the lower end of the risk scale, e.g http://www.trustnet.com/ut/funds/?fund=52250
