losing sky channels

The reason i said standard box is due to the op saying his remote was inop on his Amstrad digibox which is not sky+.
I think you are confused and worse, just confusing the OP.
The first few words of his / her post read;
" I've got Sky + "..
I cannot see any reference to " Amstrad ".:rolleyes:0 -
Thank you again for all your help. I have ordered a new sky + remote, I am nto techie but I did a google search and discovered that I needed to make sure that the colour buttons were the same as with my existing remote to be sure of a guaranteed match. Hopefully that will arrive soon.
I phoned sky again yesterday as I lost a different set of channels, late afternoon as usual and still in the 300s. They told me that this fault 'cannot happen' and that if there was any problems with the viewing card or box then I should lose 'all' the film channels and not just a few. So, I have a fault that they assure me cannot happen, not sure I am a happy bunny.

Unfortunately, Sky do not employ the brightest of people, they are mainly just Call Centre Staff with no real experience of the product, the same applies to their installers to a lesser degree.
Let's wait and see if the new remote makes any difference.
In the meantime you could try powering the Sky Receiver down from the mains and leaving it for about 2 minutes, then re-plugging it in.
NB, Sorry, I don't have avatars showing.;)0 -
I have had the whole system unplugged for 5 minutes, twice. That is the first thing Sky always suggest when I call them. I have also taken out all the leads and replaced them and even changed the scart cable.
Hopefully the remote will arrive soon and I can try that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you go interactive by pressing the tv guide on the box then use the arrow buttons to go interactive, then sky actice then go through help & support you will get a 4 digit code for the remote control if you select your tv make & model, so you can programme your remote control.You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0
