My favourite black pudding 'recipe' is to have it on a salad of quite bitter leaves (frisee is good) with a light vinaigrette and a poached egg on top.0

Happy New Year OSers!
After a new year party and necessary morning after fry up for 7, have ended up with a half pound-ish chunk of very good black pudding in my freezer. I love it in very small amounts and clearly is not very good at all for those new year diet resolutions but am sure it can be used for something other than fry ups....any ideas?!
Thanks!0 -
my local pub does a fantastic chicken and black pudding stack - very simple, layer cooked slices of chicken breast with slices of black pudding and pour over a pepper sauce - it's a delicious combination. Serve with mash and veg.0

I use black pudding in:
1) Sausage, onion and potato bake. Seriously not good for the waistline, but very nice all the same
2) In a rice salad with eggs and haddock. It sounds like a bad combination but it's lovely!
3) Stuff it under the skin of a chicken before you roast it. Another strange-sounding one but OH loves it!
4) If you're making anything using sausage meat, finely chop some black pudding into it to make the flavour more intense.0 -
Slice of black pud on top of a large open mushroom topped with melted blue cheese.0

Crispy fried black pudding & streaky smoked bacon chopped/broken into small pieces, poached egg and salad(ideally frisee or radiccio -something a little bitter)
reduce some balsamic vinegar in pan you fried pudding in, bit of olive oil (or cold pressed rapeseed oil to be a little more local)
Yum yum yum
I think I need to go get some black pudding! (any advice where you can buy Clonakilty pudding in Essex?:D)
