I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.

Tescos are the same price. Loads and loads of them in stock at Middlebrook, Bolton today.

Just bought my slow cooker from Tesco Falkirk, Scotland £9-96p
This one is 3.3 litre but looks lovely with three settings. Thank you for this tip. lorig
  • Sainsburys and Tesco say they give " rain cheques" My local Sainsburys were very reluctant, when I wanted to purchase half price BOSCH vacuum cleaner that was out of stock, asked them to get one from a branch which had them in stock. They did!!
  • Not been to Sainsburys, but noticed that Tesco are doing similar thing with their slow cooker, half price at £9.99, other best buys include a steam iron at £3.97.

Got myself a Tesco one yesterday @ 9.99, but am a bit of a muppett :o in the kitchen and thought I'd follow one of the basic recipes normally found in any instruction book, but there was nowt there. I thought it was sadly lacking in even very basic info.

I know about the slow cooker thread - too much information - started wading through it, after two hours:eek: , gave up! Bit overwhelming for a novice - sorry!

So did anyone get a manual with recipes in with the Tesco one?

No recipes in mine. From memory you have to make sure that the food is hot when you put it in and leave it on for about 15 hours. I am guessing any stew would benefit from being cooked like this. I am however going to treat myself to a slow cooker cook book from a cheap book shop.
