Another IB50 & Sick Note Problem!

I recently completed an IB50 form after 13 months of claiming IB. The form didn't request that I submit a sick note of any description. This was the first IB50 form I'd completed as I've previously had long-term Sick Notes. (Current one expires on 06/10)
However today, Saturday, I've just had a letter from Jobcentre saying I need a Sick Note if I'm to continue claiming IB. This means I have to get this sorted on Monday at latest. I won't get an appointment now anyway - even then it is unlikely to arrive with JBP before the deadline of Tuesday. So, if any of you know what might be happening here, I'd appreciate.

If you pass the PCA then you wont have to send in any more sick notes,however until thats sorted you need to be covered by a sick note
I would tele my doctors surgery on monday morning and explain the situation and ask if your gp will leave a sick note for you,i know my doctors prefer that than an appointmet being watsed for a sick note,you may then be able to get the s/note to the jc+ on monday afternoon
Depending on where you live the PCA can take anything upto 4 months to action atm:eek:

Normally JCP send a reminder a week before a sick note runs out. Providing you get the new sick note in by the end of the week there shouldn't be a problem. Make a note yourself when the new sick note runs out.

Thanks for the last two replies .. much appreciated. I'd just assumed that, as I'd submitted the IB50, then the need for sick notes had run out. Reminder took a week to get here, hence panic.

Were you not asked to send a Med4 with your IB50?

No, wasn't asked for Med4 - which I thought was unusual at the time. I even posted this query on here. Anyway, managed to scramble a Med3 form today, so hope will arrive. Otherwise, I'll drop out of the system & have to re-apply, I guess.

They normally give you a week or so to get your SN in.

OK, thanks. Mad system anyway as I have cancer so hardly likely to be out in the workplace - although some people with the Big C do, I know.
