Window Insulation Or New Windows

Hope someone can help me here!!
I recently moved to a new house and i have found the i constantly have to leave the heating on.
A neighbour told me it might be my windows??
The windows are sash type and very old.
I did some research and found a website that does a sort of film that you can apply to the windows- they sell it at
www.window-insulation.com
Does anyone know-
a/ Does this stuff work or am i wasting my money
b/ is this price cheap or can i get it cheaper
Please dont tell me to get new windows- i am out of work and i am really short of cash at the moment.

Remember years ago sticking clear plastic sheeting over entire window , held by sticky tape. You could see the plastic move when the wind blew. Not an elegant solution but VERY cost efficient. Perhaps the sheeting now sold as plastic dust sheets would work?0

Don't they still sell that? You used to tape it up then use a hairdryer to shrink it tight.I am the Cat who walks alone0
