bill paying....

i always pay my monthly bill online through my online banking service (on the date printed on the bill) then if i have any money left at the end of the month i then go to the bank and use my bill to pay more unless i cleared the card on the first payment.

now i have phoned the company and asked if i pay my bill before the due date (ie when it is sent to me - 2 weeks before its due) through online banking, will they still charge non payment because it is in the middle of the month, they had no answer and i cant find it on the teams and conditions  any ideas?

thanks in advance

  • If I have followed your thread correctly, here's my thoughts. I check my C/C online and as I use it as a debit card, so to get the cashback and always clear full amount, as soon as a purchase shows I transfer across a bill payment from my Nationwide flex account, which takes 3-4 days, wherever in the month it is. By the time the statement comes out, these payments are also listed. OK so by then my balance is back to zero usually, but the point is if you have made the minimum payment or more during the month, then no non payment charges, as you haven't not payed

To the OP. Do you mean that you pay the minimum amount when the statement arrives (and before the due date) then throw whatever you have left in the account at the end of the month to pay off a bit more?

If so then you wont incurr any fees as the minimum payment for that month has already been taken off.
  • yes ktf thats exactly what i do unless i clear the card on the first payment.

thanks you very much, why is it all you lovely people know answers but when you call the c/c company they have no idea what so ever?
