Ignoring the fact that recessions are caused deliberately and do not "just happen" ........
What we are witnessing is not a recession or blip as of old.
We are at a major turning point is human history, on a par with the industrial revolution.
In 10 years time, as our lives are transformed we will look back with incredulity at how we allowed ourselves to be duped by the lying thieves that will be in control every aspect of our lives.
And some of the things we all now take for granted will be unavailable or prohibitively expensive."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

The rate of techonology will just mean more balance in the world hopefully, free markets work to destroy inefficiency so western politicians being proved horribly wrong is going to be good for someone0

You have to look at changes over years, when daily changing headlines & people responsible are long gone & forgotten.0 -
Get out while you can.
House prices rise by 5.9% in 2009, says Nationwide0 -
Thats just the rate of change, less worse isnt positive. If we can keep at +5% for a whole year and the next that'd be positive but we dont know that'll happen.
Do we have an average house price graph, that would show the fall and where we are now much better0 -
I do love the coloured "flower" pattern, published by the "Guardian", that shows where central government's tax take goes.
(This year's prize weed is bank support).
Does anybody have a similar concept of a chart that shows all the taxes and how much each raises ?
Nice big area called borrowing and another called printing?0 -

oh dear this thread sounds like im reading the Daily mail a couple of months ago, terror, sorrow, we are all going to die... right now!!! There is no light at the end of the tunnel. Doooommmed we are all doomed, basically why don't we all stop breathing because the end is coming.
Anyone savvy enough not to borrow enough money to feed a small population on credit cards unsecured loans, buying houses when they couldn't afford them esp if anything went wrong..saved enough money when times were good ..for a rainy day.. probably have a brighter view on this, not optimistic but everyone is going to survive type view...
also there is a recession every couple of centuries/years..mmm..pattern emerging maybe... shock/horror !!
What a shock to everyone this must have been...
We all know the areas of which this has hit(its been well publicised/scare mongered to the general public).. but there have been business that have actually done very well (food sales went up , it happened in the last recession too !)
But hey maybe I am completely wrong0 -

Problem is guessing which year or decade the storm hits.0
