Do you get a funny taste from a thermos flask?

I have a silver one and once when I forgot to empty it and wash it, discovered it smelt, so I washed it out dried it and put bicarb in it dry, to get rid of any lingerers. You can guess whats coming next. A few days later I went to make a flask of tea for my commute and was merrily sinking into my book then tasted my tea - I bleurggghed it all over the table and my fellow, silent, stiff upper lip commuters all looked at me. Red faced I explained what happened and only one of them acknowledged me by a very small grin. I don't know what happens to people on trains, if I had watched someone do this I would have ROFL'ed:D They have no sense of humour.

Hi all, I had the same issue with funny taste of tea and coffee and I could see it was coming from plastic lids and caps in the stainless steel thermoses - tried to find one with out but there are none. Nobody makes one. Went to see if somebody could make one for me but making one is SUPER expensive.
