Money Transfers How Long ?

I transferred money by BACS from HSBC to LLOYDS TSB and it took two hours .
I have Transferred money from LLOYDS TSB to NORTHERN ROCK by BACS and its still missing from the receipt account after TWO DAYS in fact it looks like its going to be "in the system " all weekend is this acceptable?
