Having read through this thread, I think I'll give the place a miss....I like an old fashioned high street. I too am neither thin nor trendy (though I still class myself as a young, Im 35)

I cant stand cribbs when it's busy so cc sounds like a place I should avoid like the plague!

I sound like I hate shopping, I don't....quite the opposite infact...I just cant stand the stampedes, queues, noise, unruly kids (and I have one of those at home!) and the ensuing stress that comes with a busy shopping centre.

I dont like driving in Bristol therefore If I do ever decide to go to cc, park and ride for me.

Maybe one day you'll see me there, but then again...I'll stick to my local high street, :)

I love it and am 39 and a large size (but slimming at the moment). All its done has brought Bristol up to the standard it should have been for years. Broadmead was a dump until CC opened. I like the new restaurants too, have wanted to try sushi for years and now have done at Yo Sushi.

I would park in the Mall Galleries car park if you get there early, much cheaper.

    1. The toilets in the Mall Galleries have coat hooks on the wall above the cisterns rather than on the door. However I haven't always noticed this, and as they have those T-shaped door locking mechanisms I sometimes hang my bag on the locking bar before I swing it into the locked position. This may not make a lot of sense ...

    2. Many of the shops in the 'old' Broadmead, especially in the Mall Galleries, are now open later.

    3. DEFINITELY go and see the reindeer after dark.

Despite my apparently regular excursions, I've yet to spend any money in any of the new shops! I was looking at suitcases in House of Fraser today, but didn't like the prices. Much better VFM in TK Maxx! :rotfl:

  • nice shopping centre but mega expensive especially in today's climate they need to introduce some more shops that are within most peoples price range but with the cost of rent for businesses that will probably not happen. Nice to go and have a look but if you want to buy anything it probably means a saving up period before hand,.

Its only Quakers Friars that is designer, not Cabot Circus. Its just the normal range of High Street Shops.

Finally made it to Cabot Circus on Saturday as I needed to buy some stuff from a shop in Broadmead. Very underwhelmed - think I'll stick to Cribbs (easier for me to get to anyway). Thought it a shame there seemed to be a lot of shops that have closed down in the main part of Broadmead.
