advice on buying a new laptop / computer

Hello all

just wanted to know if there is someone out there that could help me in some advising what sort of graphics card i would need when looking to buy my new pc i just want to browse the net and play poker, also look at different sites buying stuff but more than that i want to play games not top of the range games, i always buy a new computer which isn't very good when i go to play my games and i always get told its my graphics card so if there are any computer buffs that could point me in the right direction im looking at the intel gl965g graphics card, intel graphics accelerator x3100, or even the intel gl960 graphics card will any of these be ok or can you name a better one to look out for when im deciding

thanks in advance

It depends on the games. Basically if it's 3D shooter types or anything released in the last couple of years, you need to be looking at least a nVidia 8600GT. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING WITH INTEL GRAPHICS. Intel do "put a picture on the screen" cards, not performance ones. You want a system with an ATI or nVidia card in it and as mentioned before, no less than a 8600GT with nVidia or a 1950 if ATI.

Agree with Conor there. You need a decent Nvidia or ATI card. Intels are c*ap! Most computers and cards these days use the PCIE connection (Something to remember if you buy the computer THEN a graphics card)

So your looking at buying a laptop?
It will be awful for playing games. Id REALLY recommend a desktop PC with a good monitor
