Moving house. CPS provider need to know?

Hi,

I'm moving house soon, within the same exchange area.

I've informed BT who are transferring my existing number and account to the new property. I noticed that they are slapping a 12 month tie-in contract on as well, with no options for me to avoid this ! I only use them for line rental, so that's probably okay.

I use Primus as the CPS. Do I need to inform them too or will that move with the number?

Cheers,

Ben

That's a very good question. Logically, the answer would be, as the CPS is 'attached' to the number, it should automatically move too.

But, for some reason, there's a voice shouting at me, "Don't you belieeeeeeeeeve it" - so I'd recommend a call to Primus to be on the safe side. 0800 036 38 39.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

If your account number starts with gb then no it wont move. if it starts with any other 2 letters it should move unless the advisor unticked the "retain cps" button when placing the home move. (which they should not do)
