Some info needed please.....

Hi all,
i'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it.

Anyway here goes:
I've got a baby girl of 5 months old. Since birth she has always had a very slightly larger right breast, not really noticeble but there.

During the last couple of days, i've noticed that the breast is quite a bit larger than the other one, With quite a solid little lump underneath. It doesn't cause her any discomfort or pain when i touch it. The left breast hasn't got a lump.

Could this be anything to do with teething? Shes cut her first tooth last week and her 2nd is nearly there. I don't breast feed so it can't be my hormones going into her.

I've got a appointment with the dr on friday, but i just wanted to put my mind at rest about this, as i've got a family history of breast cancer. I've tried googling but it doesn't come up with anything.

Thanks for reading,
Lea x

I remember both of mine having little 'buds' underneath their nipples. They went eventually but I distinctly remember wondering if they were normal at the time.

Did they have little buds under both or just one? How long did they take to go?

    Thanks Jay-Jay

I vividly remember both of my daughters having what felt like peas under their skin. With the youngest, one was bigger than the other, can't remember when they went I just noticed one day that they weren't there.

I was breastfeeding too so maybe it was something to do with that. I know that baby boys and girls are born with them (from the Mums hormones) so I don't know whether my daughter's would have gone away any earlier if I hadn't breastfed.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it, especially as you're seeing the doc on Friday.

Yep, my eldest had this too. I was told by my midwife that after birth a baby girl has a huge amount of hormones in her system which can cause these lumps. It can even cuase a newborn to have a small period and have a milky substance come from her breasts.

My daughters lumps(she had them both sides) hadnt completely gone until shewas 8 months old.
