Powerpoint virgin - how do I?

I want to create a 1-slide Christmas card that I can put text on the top of. How do I do this please?

    Do you want your picture to cover the whole slide?

    If so then open a blank slide, import your picture and then add a text box over the top.
    It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical
