Bought fake item

I bought an 'authentic signed poster' from a guy in the USA, and have since found out (through official movie websites) that this guy is a well know fraud and his items are all fake! The moeny has been deducted from my bank account (via Visa debit), but no goods have arrived yet. Even if I do receive the item, it's going to be a fake anyway! Can I reclaim my money from Visa? What do I do next?

Did you pay through Paypal?0

No, unfortunately not. It was just a standard online payment tool and I used my Visa Debit card.0

Only thing you could do is give your bank a call and ask if you would be covered. I'm thinking you prpbably wouldn't be.
How much did you pay? I don't know if it would be worth refusing delivery of the item and claiming through ebay for item not received or alternatively accepting the item and claiming not as described but this could be a long drawn out process and you still aren't guaranteed to get your money back.0 -
Sorry. That's assuming you did of course purchase from ebay.0

It wasn't through eBay... was directly from the website, www.neautograph.com. Once you start investigating this guy on the web, he seems very well know for being a fraudster! I should have done my research.
I have tried to contact the bank, but just keep getting passed around - you know what it's like!!!
I have contacted Trading Standards too to see if they can at least try and get this scum site removed!
I paid just over £100.00 - what an idiot!!!
Thanks very much for your help.0 -
You could post in the Credit Cards forum as this forum is really for Ebay/Auctions related questions.0

I wouldnt beat yourself up about it, we all make mistakes.
I find myself questioning the Dark Knight poster he has, featuring Heath Ledger's autograph, because as far as I know that poster wasnt produced until after he died! Be interesting to see if anyone can confirm that.0
