Hi,
My laptop has frequent problems running slow. I ususally use Windows Tak Manager to close the not responding page. However, for some reason lately when I launch it, it no longer has the minimise / maximise / close tabs at the top right so I can't then close it. I have tried expanding but it still doesn't show.
It is always 'on top' window, so I have to drag it to bottom of screen to move out of view.
Anybody know what has caused this and howI get it to show / work properly again?
Really appreciate all /any help.

I would start by ensuring relevant programs only are running at start up, clean up temporary files, and defrag the hard drive to help with the slowness of the laptop, if you haven't done these things already. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

I have no idea what you might have done to lose those control buttons, but pressing ALT + Spacebar simultaneously should bring up a menu box with those commands in it.

Many thanks for the quick replies.
Just tried loaner's suggestion and it worked!
So many thanks, all back to normal again.
Simple when you know what you're doing, which I obviously don't!ITV Winners Club Member (106)

Q. Why does Task Manager look different? Where have the menus and tabs gone?
Task Manager has two different views. To see the view that includes menus and tabs, double-click the border of the Task Manager window. To switch back to the view without menus and tabs, double-click anywhere in the border around the tabs.
As noted by loaner @ #4

Hi,
There is a virus that turns off Task manager, it is one of the features it disables.
A good scan might be worth doing.
