Barclaycard points

My mums due to get a new card from barclaycard as goldfish are transfering her account to BC, the letter she received mentioned about points, what can you do with the points, i mean can you use them against say insurance

They used to have nectar points (they stopped that in 2005 though). Can't find anything about a points scheme on barclaycard's site now though
