Money Frauduently withdrawen

3 months ago my nephew received a phone call from his BS to say that £1000 had been withdrawen from his account on 3 seperate occassions over the weekend from a branch office in England.

He lives in Northern Ireland and is disabled and could not possibly have been the person who made the withdrawal. It is a telephone account and he has no Pass/bank book.

He was advised that his account would be frozen pending investigation. Despite numerous phone calls he has got nowhere. Originally he was told they had 3 months to investigate. Now that period is up they have said they are going to take another further month to investigate. His pay is paid into this account so he has had no money for 3 months and had to live off his mother's generosity.

He contacted the ombudsman but received no reply.

Can anyone advise what he can do now?
Thanks

open another bank account immediately and have his pay paid into that. he can open an account over the phone with a number of banks. If his account has been frozen they must still release any additional funds that have been paid into the account- if it was really frozen his employers transactions would have been returned to the issuing bank.
Remind his bs that he is sure that the local press would love to hear about a bs withholding a disabled mans money- you will find the wheels will move very quickly after that. good luck !

Also I think he should report the fraud to the police.

Follow jscalow's advice and switch the salary immediately.

Hope you can escalate the issue with the ombudsman, also a letter to a Sunday broadsheet financial supplement might help too - sad to think this is how to get a response, but it gets someone respected fighting on your behalf.
