Returning my console to Game?

Hello people :beer:

I want to return my xbox 360.I bought it from Game a few days ago,it has been opened and tested but im just not happy with it to be honest.

I have 3 questions.

1) Would I be able to return it for store credit (im not after a refund) I have the recipt.

2) If not what would be the trade in price for an xbox 360 60gb console?

3) and purely being nosey here....why do you have to sign the recipt when trading in games/consoles,just stupidly never read it!

game dont allow returns unless its faulty, they use to have a 10 day period but stopped this as so many people completed games within 10 days and took them back etc.

With Sainsbury reducing the price of the 360 you would be lucky to get £80 trade in now.

You normally have to put name and address in when signing so if piracy etc, they have a fall back.

we had real hassle with game a while ago, we got an xbox 360 but were not happy so we wanted to return it, but all they wanted to do was offer us another console, in the end we managed to stick to our guns went to another game and they did refund us in the end, but were not to happy about it.

why are you not happy with it, is it faulty, i guess it isn't as you dont mention any faults so imo you cant get your money back, you could trade it in against another console,

If u made the purchase online then you can still return the item within 7 days under the distant selling regulations.

If purchased in a store then theyre not obliged to refund unless item is faulty.

I have taken a few games back over the years, either saying "the game is crap and i dont like it" or "i didnt agree with the games terms & conditions" but i've never heard of someone taking the console back, perhaps you should call microsoft and tell them your unhappy and would like a refund.

Thanks for the replys people! Tbh I work in sales and im not a big fan of things being returned,especially if theve been opened and used without a good reason.
Im in split minds weather to keep it or not,its a decent console but (and this will sound stupid to some) because I can work evening shifts when I get home im awake for hours and thought ill buy a console.Problem being its a pretty loud console and as there was no way to find this out for myself before I bought seeing as no one I know owns one,it was a bit of a shock.I cant turn the tv high enough to cover the fan/disc noise due to people being asleep.(i.e id normally have the sound on say 4 bars but now it has to go up to an 8 which will wake people up)

The main thing is im happy with the console I just cant fully enjoy it which is frustrating.Im looking at upgrading my tv and getting one with a headphone socket (old one is a decent tv tho) just to solve it,and its getting pricey.

Pretty strange reason I know,just a little niggle when uve speant £££

Anyway thanks for all your comments guys,believe it or not ive never to my knowlage taken anything back to a store (probably wont this time either :P)

Hook up some headphone straight to the console via some adaptors or into a music system with a mic socket

The Autumn update will let you load full games onto the hard drive so you wont have to listen to the drive which is very loud.

the fan on the ps3 is much the same.

I have both consoles and the PS3 is whisper quiet, I think the Xbox and PS3 are both as good as each other, (xbox more established games library, PS3 with its blu-ray) but the Xbox does sound like a hovercraft, saying they're the same is a lie.
