    I take it the 95% is in the written T's & C's, nothing is mentioned on the web site ?

    I can't find it on the online T&C's, and I don't have access to my own credit agreement at the moment, but here's the text from my Virgin "your accounts" balance transfer area...
    * Your available credit amount may not include your recent purchases, advances or transfers. When deciding on your transfer amount, be sure to keep your balance within 95% of your credit limit by taking into account such transactions and also any applicable fees and interest which may be added before your next statement date.
    You may be better checking with Abbey before writing the cheque - just in case they bounce it!! :eek:
