Keyboard layout changed suddenly

Hi, I'm being really thick here but I've had a mental blank. My keyboard has suddenly changed, for instance when I press the @ button I actually get a double quote mark. All letters are fine, it's the punctuation keys that are screwed.

Running Vista and I've looked in the keyboard and regional/language tabs but can't see any wrong settings. Num look etc are all off. I think I've probably pressed the function key by mistake...

What application are you using where its doing it wrong?

Somewhere its been set to American keyboard. If you press shift+2 (i.e. ") you will get the @

If its MSN Messenger, restart it.
If its in Word, bottom right hand corner it will say English (US), double click and change to English (UK).

Was just using IE7 and notepad, noticed the EN in the Vista status bar and restored to UK, thanks very much - seems OK now.
