Ebico to EDF online 6

Options
Hi,

After the Ebico price rise I'm thinking of 'jumping ship' - really would like to keep it simple (I love the Ebico quarterly billing) but money is very tight and for electric they are now a bit too expensive - energyhelponline show EDF online 6 as a saving of £200 per annum on usage of 5500 kw - it seems that this online price is a new offering from EDF but I'm wondering 'whats the catch' - what is the chance of this price being held?

Any general observations would be appreciated.

Unless the EDF rate is capped, its most likely to go up.
  • Hi

Fair enough - I'm prepared for increases with the general market but just wondered if 'online' tariffs were to be avoided for any reason.

doesnt necassarily mean you have to avoid Online Tarrifs. It all depends how many units per KW you are being charged. I am on EDF Online V2 and compared the units and found EDF online to be the cheapest.

Also read the online tariffs have been withdrawn so i presume they were cheaper than standard tariffs.

Any advise wanted let me know
  • Hi,anybody else think this is a good tariff to swap to from npower o/line 11-shows as saving of £60 not quite as much as british gas click 6 but maybe worth a wee bit more for the better customer service?Presumably this tariff will then increase around same time as BG click 7 is introduced late march?
  • Well I decided to switch to EDF online 6 as the savings versus the new Ebico price were just too large (5500 kw per annum = £700 versus £500) - no doubt they will increase their prices just as I join but if so I will just switch again!
