Thanks BAAB-the car with the crap tyres hasn't got the same tyres as the new one. The car that i pranged was an absolute write-off. Sadly i had a row with a bus shelter. How many bankrupts do you know have had 2 cars in a month-2 bloody wage packets-bloody bloody hell!!
The car i wrote off was bought thinking that our car on HP was going to go back virtually immediately. I bloody wrote it off 23 hours after we bought it LITERALLY! . We insured the HP car on short term insurance, then when i was paid last week we bought another banger-Black Horse ring OH today and give us the option of keeping the car on HP-God only knows what to bloody do!
really hope that all makes sense!
    Thanks J & A

Yes now ive got you, i thought you had written the HP one off:o

Its a tough call as it leaves you with a commitmant that you may not want.

It would make sense to keep the HP one if its more reliable and newer as it should cost less to run/maintain, but maybe not enough to offset the HP payment, and a newer car is not always more reliable.

If t is going to make your budget tight by keeping it, just remember prices are still going up on everything, so that will get worse, if there is even any doubt keeping it will cause a shortfall in money to live on, not just now but in the future then let it go, after all that defeats you going through BR if you dont

Thats my 1pence worth, for what its worth:confused:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

we've got a hard decision to make. Black Horse in fairness have been really good and are giving us til Monday afternoon th make the choice.
OH is waiting for news of a job, if it starts aweek on Monday then keeping the car is a possibility, but what happens if we decide to keep the car then say within a couple of months or so we realise we can't?
Are we then liable for the rest of the finance? I suppose that's a question for Black Horse.
Thanks BAAB, your comments are appreciated.

  • Black Horse will say you will be i can guarentee it:D

But im not sure to be honest as the OR tech manuall says any liabilaty from before your BR goes into your BR, even if that liabilaty doesnt materialise till after your BR, or words to that effect.

So in theory you can never be liable for any shortfall regardless of when it arises, but ive not seen anyone put that into practice on a a HP car after say discharge so wouldnt want to say that is the case for sure:confused:
