Early discharge & Car HP

Hi all haven't been on for a while and haven't received any sarky messages from Dez-where are you?
Anyway OH had a chat today with our OR today and apparently she is going to put us through forearly discharge. Nothing signed and sealed yet obviously-so we are assuming that's hopefully good news.
Also OH had a phone call today from the Black Horse who we have our car finance with-and they told him that the OR has been in touch, and they have no interest in the car. black Horse have given OH the choice of keeping the car and to come to an agreement about the arrears-or we can let it go-they've given us the weekend to think about it!

To those worried about cars on HP maybe it's not all doom and gloom!

Have to say we have only paid 4 payments-the Hp was over 4 years-suppose it's in the HP company's interest for us to keep paying-but we have been very, very surprised today!

No neither do we! My sister reckons it's cos the ORs are so busy.
Really don't know what to think the car phone call has amazed us, no less the OR phone call-is it good news or not? Also not at any point has an IPA been mentioned which our Debt counsellor said we would get.
    Thanks Merry-hope you are OK

Is it worth making the four payments and keeping it? Will that be easier than trying to get something else? Am chuffed for you (but yes just a little jealous too! )

Hi Merry-you read about my little escapade with the car and the bus shelter! We had it for 23 hours then written off thanks to me-dozy t**t!
Since then we've bought a £400 citroen that desperately needs tyres but at least it runs, thing is we've been completely thrown with Black Horse's offer today.
If we'd known this a month ago we wouldn't've bothered looking for other cars. We just thought as soon as we went BK the car would've gone.
    Hindsight-what a wonderful thing!

I had to replace a tyre on my 1998 (R) Rover - cost me £45 including fitting, which was a decent enough price. Hindsight is 20/20 honey - I look back and there are so many things I would have done differently - sigh!

  • I dont suppose the tyres on the car you pranged and the new one are the same are they, the wheels may be differant but the tyres may not be

If they are get them swapped over then let them take the pranged one back, but im a bit concerned that they may kick up a stink as if you have a car on HP you should have it insured fully comp, and you only had third party didnt you?

Unless its not HP and just a personal loan:confused:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

Thanks BAAB-the car with the crap tyres hasn't got the same tyres as the new one. The car that i pranged was an absolute write-off. Sadly i had a row with a bus shelter. How many bankrupts do you know have had 2 cars in a month-2 bloody wage packets-bloody bloody hell!!
The car i wrote off was bought thinking that our car on HP was going to go back virtually immediately. I bloody wrote it off 23 hours after we bought it LITERALLY! . We insured the HP car on short term insurance, then when i was paid last week we bought another banger-Black Horse ring OH today and give us the option of keeping the car on HP-God only knows what to bloody do!
really hope that all makes sense!
