Using Google Docs with dormant Googlemail

Hi
I have set up a separate googlemail account for the Google Docs storage facility. I'm storing bills and bank statements, so in an attempt to keep it secure, I'm not using the googlemail part of that account for any emails. Does anyone know if that account will eventually be considered dormant as there is no email traffic? Or does regular use of the Docs part of the account keep it "live"?
I've had a look in the help section and can't find the answer.
I'm asking because, having had a poke around Jungle Disk, I find its just too complicated
. I've been using Google Docs for a while and find it suits my needs (including being simple enough for me!).
Cheers

i wouldn't have thought it would be a problem
you could always email yourself every now and then0 -

I don't quite understand what's not silent about sending yourself an email? I appreciate you're trying to keep the username a secret (actually it would be interesting to see how much spam that sort of account would get) - but if you only send an email to yourself, surely nobody will see it.
The program policies (available at the bottom of your gmail page) says
"Google will terminate your account in accordance with Section 9 of the Terms of Use if you fail to login to your account for a period of nine months."
You don't need to send/receive - just login to gmail - in fact I'm fairly sure given the account is for the whole of google, even just logging into Google Docs will preserve the account.
I hope you're planning to keep a backup of the documents either on your hard drive or on a CD, because trusting Google Docs with your only copy of private info seems a bit risky to me.

Hi Jonny
Thanks, that answers my question (how stupid of me not to notice).
I'm probably being naive, but felt that if I didn't send anything from or to the account, then (1) hackers wouldn't "spot" me and (2) I wouldn't get any spam. I've had the account for about a month now, with no spam whatsoever. Even if I send an email to myself, there will still be some ethernet traffic for it, so its no longer what I would call silent.
Regarding backup, I'm trusting gmail as much as I would trust JungleDisk/Amazon, as google back up their servers too.
Cheers
