I risk being called financial stupid but please tell me someone is my RBS Guaranteed Capital Bond with Royal Assurance covered by the new savings rule and if not should I ditch it and take a loss to put the 10,000 (or what might be left of it) in a savings account

It is not a deposit/savings account so wouldnt have deposit protection.
