    Personally if your not technically savvy/have little experience of Linux it might be more trouble than its worth (based on I havent used a linux build for years so dont know how much easier they have become)

    Very easy. I know next to nothing about Linux, but mobile broadband on the Asus Eee was virtually plug and play.

    Well the new version of "Network Manager" application bundled with most Linux distros now supports mobile broadband devices so as long as there's the hardware drivers, there should be no problem.
