Airline Cabin Crew - Life insurance

Hello - Is anyone aware of any insurance companies that will cover accidental death whilst carrying out duties as airline cabin crew - most of the majors have an exclusion on the policy for this occupation. Cheers

See if your employer has arranged any scheme(s) with insurers.

Otherwise it's a broker job - you won't get this "off the peg" via the net.

It shouldn't be problematic at all. If you are simply looking for life cover and your work for a UK airline, your policy will not attract an special terms (exclusions) or loaded premium.

What you will find is that some insurers have a standard exclusion for 'acts of war or terrorism' when they will not pay out. However, some don't cary this exclusion and many that do only apply it to TPD (disability) or critical illness claims...not life.

Hi - I have checked with my current insurer - and they have written to me and said that whilst on duty and carrying out the duties of my job, should i be fatally injured I would not be covered. This even includes and accident on the ground - such as a trip or fall etc - thanks for the info though

Who is your current insurer and what sort of policy is it? Is it accidental death only or a cash plan that will pay out for broken bones and includes accidental death cover?

I'm not a big fan of these plans precisely because of the limitations and exclusions they impose. If your biggest concern is a payout in the event of death - accidental or not - you may be better off with a straightforward term life policy. As I said before, as long as you work for a UK airline (in fact any major airline with a proven safety record) you will not have a problem getting term life assurance.

I can't speak for accidental death cover though.
