Insurance to cover £3000 excess on hire of Ferrari

For my father's 50th birthday we are hiring him a Ferrari for 3 hours, I'm hoping he will enjoy it and I know it is is something that he has always wanted to do.
The hire is very reasonable, but we do have to leave a £3000 deposit in case of any damage to the vehicle.
When I hired a car overseas I paid for additional insurance to cover the high excess charges but I'm not sure whether I can get any insurance to cover the excess in these particular circumstances.
I have contacted a couple of the companies who offer car hire excess insurance cover and they wont cover a car of this value.
Any ideas?
If worst comes worst we will just have to pay the deposit and keep our fingers crossed.

There have been scams on tv about less than reputable companies who will suddenly notice damage to the car when you return it.0

Oh, thanks for the warning.
I think we might take some photos of the car before we drive it to have proof of the condition it was in.0 -
