As mitchaa said Dyce can be a bit of a nightmare to get into during peak times therefore if your job is flexible try and time your day to avoid it
Totally agree ... flexible time are key ... getting to Dyce from the North is a nightmare at peak times ... the whole place just clogs up. The traffic on the A947 can queue back as far as Newmachar, while the Parkill road goes back miles.
... also note that the construction work for the Aberdeen bypass (assuming it ever starts) will probably add to the chaos for 4 + years once it starts ... and do little to alleviate things once its open. There is a website where you can review the route etc. (google for AWPR and you should find it).
Where you work in Dyce makes a lot of difference ... the industrial sites are on opposite sides of the airport and it can take a while to get between the two.
If looking at the train as an option, the railway station is in Dyce village, the side of the airport that BP etc. are at.
If thinking about catching a bus, Stagecoach have a monopoly on many routes and the prices are shocking - we are only 20 miles from Aberdeen and a bus passes my road-end but Stagecoach don't do day returns so its over ten pounds for a return trip (last time I caught it).0 -
It also depends on how much you have to spend on property and commuting. I live in Peterhead and lots of people commute to Aberdeen everyday. The added bonus is that property is a good deal cheaper.0

Depends on time of day. At peak time used to take me about 40 minutes to an hour from Mintlaw so add another 15 minutes on to that?
Might be a lot worse now because I think there has been a lot more development since then. Some really nice little places to live round about there.0 -

There would need to be some fabulous places to live to compensate for that sort of commute :rotfl:0 -

Hey - takes me an hour and a half to commute 26 miles where I live now! I yearn for that Peterhead/Bridge of Don road!
And you know what - every time I go up there to visit my family the sun is ALWAYS shining! Lovely part of the world...you are all so lucky!0 -
You weren't visiting today then lol!0
